Budget Home Theater

Thursday, January 26th, 2012

Parts of audio systems consist of satellite speakers, a central speaker, a subwoofer and some sort of a receiver. The savvy online shopper will want to do some research on the various types of systems available and the price ranges. One option for consideration are home theater box packages. There are some terrific systems available at reasonable prices and it is convenient for the new buyer to have all of the components in one package.

Onkyo’s SKS-HT870 is a great choice in the budget in a box home theater arena. This system combines speakers and an AV receiver as a package. It has extraordinary sound quality for its reasonable price tag. One of the few complaints is that the Onkyo has a bit of a retro’70′s appearance, a little unpolished and boxy in its look. This is far less of a concern when the less than $500 price tag comes into play.

The Onkyo comes with two slender tower-type speakers, four satellite speakers, a center channel speaker, and of course, a subwoofer. All speakers have fiberboard cabinetry and the finish is black wood-grain, hence the 70′s type style. Black cloth covers front the speakers and these covers are not removable as some speaker covers are. This system has terrific sound, both in audio from DVD’s and Blu-rays, or when listening to music CD’s. The sound is spread evenly throughout the speaker system and the subwoofer does it job in defining the sound. The performance far belies the almost cheap price tag and makes it a superb choice for the first home theater buyer.

The Energy Take Classic 5.1 Home Theatre is another choice worthy of consideration for the price-conscious consumer. The manufacturer has a good reputation in the small speaker arena and this quality is apparent in this system. Retailing for right around $600, it costs a bit more than the Onkyo. A fascinating fact is that this company debuted the original Take 5 system over ten years ago, and today’s far superior upgrade now sells for $200 less than the original system did.

Black laminate speakers and subwoofer with a shiny finish are the design elements of the Energy Take system. This home theatre combination literally rocks with huge sound and a fully balanced pairing between the speakers and the subwoofer. Music CD’s resound with layers of sound. When enjoying a movie on DVD or Blu-ray, Energy Take provides crisp clear dialogue and the right mix of background sound. The subtle sounds that make movies great, like stairs creaking and twigs snapping, all come through loud and clear. This is a credit to this company’s expertise in producing great small speakers.

No home theater recreates the movie theater experience unless all parts of audio systems are synced to work together in perfect harmony. The systems reviewed in this article do yeoman’s work for very little cost. When many home theater systems on the market today are listing at well above $1000, these two budget systems are well worth further review and consideration.

Movies: Rob Thomas Cradlesong Review Rob Thomas Cradlesong Review

Friday, January 20th, 2012

In 1996 Matchbox 20 released their debut album. Since then front man Rob Thomas has branched out with a successful solo career. His first solo effort was “Something To Be,” in 2005. Thomas demonstrated his ability to masterfully write and sing great pop style music. The record was a smash success and became a platinum best seller. After cutting another album with Matchbox 20, Rob Thomas now offers up his second solo project.

The album is titled “Cradlesong.” If you haven’t heard of it yet, you’ll soon be listening to its singles on the radio. There’s a familiar quality and sound to the album that should please long time fans. Second albums are notorious for being albums of new creative directions for artists. That really isn’t the case here. What we get is a nice pop album that’s often reminiscent of 80′s music.

“Cradlesong,” has a very polished and well produced tone. The songwriting is top notch and beautifully performed. Thomas is known for an upbeat tone and positive feeling in his music. This album is no different for the most part. It does, however, contain a few songs with some less upbeat topics covered in the lyrics.

The first single to be released from “Cradlesong,” is a catchy tune called “Her Diamonds.” It has already received heavy radio play. It has a nice tempo that goes along well with Thomas’ voice. On the track titled “Fire On The Mountain,” Thomas explores some new creative sounds. There’s a cool Middle Eastern flavor to some of the guitar riffs and a hypnotic drum beat.

The albums title track, “Cradlesong,” is a nice acoustic number. The album features 14 songs in all, with two more bonus tracks. Rob Thomas keeps proving that he can consistently write, record, and perform great pop music. This album is definitely worth a listen for all of his fans. I recommend picking this one up as soon as you can.

Movies: Finding Out About The Best Drum Machine

Thursday, January 19th, 2012

It can be a daunting task to look for a new drum machine. Luckily, if youre reading this, you have found the best drum machine software that is offered. Before we discuss this product we need to identify the important things you should look for when purchasing a new drum machine.

For the past 7 years I have been making beats and have learned from my share of mistakes. One important lesson is that when you make your beats it needs to be easy. Creativity needs to flow and it cannot if there is to much difficulty and stops along the way.

Jazz is the perfect example to illustrate the point that creativity needs to flow. If you have ever seen a jazz band youll notice they “groove” along without any planned pattern or set structure to the music”it comes right from their core. It creates an indescribable feeling that is near impossible to resist.

If you ask the musicians about their music they will tell you that the music just comes out of them, effortlessly. It is all spontaneous and uncontrived. The music just oozes out of them, so to speak.

If you want to create beats, that is how it should be. The beats should flow naturally. If your beat machine needs a lot of adjustments and settings, it will just complicate things and you will find your creative mood slipping away from you. Like the jazz musicians you should just groove, letting the beats just flow from you.

In addition to being called the “#1 beat making software on the market,” I also have found the Sonic Producer to be the best drum machine I have seen to date. It is user-friendly and easy to use with step-by-step tutorials explaining how to use the software to its full extent. You can become a pro at using the drum machine with a great amount of ease.

Sonic Producer was created by an actual musical producer. Many products on the market were created by software programmers that know nothing about true music. Sonic Producer, on the other hand, is made for real life users from a real life producer. This software allows anyone to create the beat that they have been dreaming of.

I can assure you that Sonic Producer is the best drum machine. You will certainly get good value for your money.
